The Journal Of Functional Biomaterials is an international and interdisciplinary scientific journal dedicated to biomedical materials research. The journal regularly publishes research papers, reviews and newsletters on the application of materials for biomedical use, covering a wide range of topics from basic research to clinical applications. The journal places special emphasis on collaboration between different disciplines such as chemistry, medicine, pharmacology, engineering and biology, and this interdisciplinary collaboration is key to advancing the development of biomaterials science. Through this collaboration, researchers are able to develop and test novel biomaterials that have important applications in areas such as medical devices, drug delivery systems, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

The goal of the journal is to guide the implementation of new devices to restore and enhance the form and function of the human body. This includes, but is not limited to, the development of biocompatible materials for repairing or replacing damaged tissues and organs, the design of targeted drug delivery systems for disease treatment, and the development of biosensors for monitoring and diagnostics.
